Here goes: (thread)
Wifi pumping while starting a Zoom
The green light flashes, the lag is real
Did someone just say, “this is no big deal”
They deftly maneuver to not touch the face
Tired of life in too small a place
The ounces of sanitizer they should conserve
As they speed through the food, the stash goes down
They ran out of eggs and the ‘nanners are brown
The pantry is empty, except for one can
He’s trying, providing, ‘cause he is the man
He has to stay in to flatten that curve
So he’s devising, dividing and nibbling on bones
And thinking of someone for whom he stays home
He’s avoiding disease
She’s all alone (all alone)
All alone in her quarantine
Because he’s boozing and snoozing and waiting this out
He’s sitting and knitting and staying in his house
He’s keeping his distance
-break-
He’s hoping the Clorox will get there in time
Checking his temp with doubt and remorse
He knows they won’t test him because he is poor
In his mind he’s still healthy and still virus free
She’s hoping in time he won’t get Covid-19
He’s sitting and knitting and staying in his house
The sun has gone down and he’s losing his nerve
He has to stay in to flatten that curve
So he’s biding and hiding and being alone
And thinking of someone 4 whom he stays home
He’s avoiding disease
She’s all alone (all alone)
All alone in her quarantine
He’s sitting and knitting and staying in his house
He’s boozing and snoozing and waiting this out
He’s sitting and knitting and staying in his house
He’s avoiding disease
He’s keeping his distance
(stay home, stay home)
Stay home, all day, all night
Stay home, stay home, all night
(staaaayy hoooomme)
