These two tweets just showed up one after the other on my feed and I just....there are simply no words. 
I have some anecdotal data from acquaintances of mine who are certainly not Republicans who buy the "cure is worse than the disease" line because they're pissed about losing money and either don't know that lots of people will die from Covid-19 or don't care.
I still haven't been able to get a straight answer out of them as to whether it's a) don't know or b) don't care. These are people who generally trust scientists, but when science says a million people could die in the coming months they say "nope, just hysteria."
