There is plenty of peer-reviewed science suggesting 1.5°C - 2.9°C, which we're heading for by 2022-2044, will be enough to wreck food and water security, putting billions at risk.

Monbiot is right to discuss the possible death of billions. It is also vital that we keep hold of a key reality: 2C is going to mean a highly dangerous world, and appalling climate chaos and vast human misery at 2-3C looks entirely possible.

Lynas' book will be interesting.
