Ahead of EU summit (by video conference) tomorrow, there’s immense pressure on Europe’s leaders to work out an „exit strategy“ from #coronavirus crisis .. so that economies don’t sink under cost of all the extraordinary measures /1
The will is there but the way ..? At this time of emergency for individual countries it will be as challenging as ever to get all EU members to agree on united concrete action rather than warm wording in summit conclusions - /2

Germany is among a number of EU countries that are trialling an app to track and limit spread of #coronavirus BUT also respect strict EU privacy laws /1 neweurope.eu/article/german…
The idea behind the app is also to be able to loosen #coronavirus lockdown legislation ASAP to get economies up and running again. How would this work? Personal data would be encrypted in order to respect privacy /2
The app analyses Bluetooth signals between phones to detect users near enough to infect one another. If individuals then test positive for #coronavirus then the app alerts people who have recently been around them /3

13 EU countries have issued a joint statement saying that emergency measures introduced by #coronavirus - hit nations should be temporary and in line with rule of law (democratic) principles. The statement does not single out Hungary but there’s great concern in EU circles.. /1
After Hungary introduced a law allowing PM Orban to rule by decree for an unlimited time period. /2
The 13 countries that issued the statement are: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden #coronavirus /3

Dutch scientists are working on a #Coronavirus exit strategy that could last anywhere between one and two years. "One sneeze, one cough and the virus could explode again..."

- Dutch government doesn't know how long strict measures are needed to suppress the new virus SARS-CoV-2.

- The population may have to do some degree of social distancing for one or even several years before the pandemic is over.

2.
- But the estimates are highly uncertain: no numerically substantiated long-term plans are ready to get out of this pandemic.

- The 'exit strategies' now being hastily devised & calculated are all very difficult to maintain, socially disruptive, expensive & time-consuming.

So, according to this video tape, the protesters at Tyendinaga, last Monday, had asked to have a meeting with the OPP, CNN, the feds and the province, to work out an exit strategy from the blockade if the RCMP withdrew from #Wetsuweten territory. They never got an answer.
For whatever reason, the invitation to meet to discuss and develop a safe exit strategy was ignored.
This reminds me of the FBI surrounding the Camp Davidian complex in Waco and cutting off their phones. The people inside hung sheets out of their windows asking for the phones to be reconnected so they could communicate. It never happened.
