Peter Morley: #Plaquinil, #Hydroxychloroquine help keep me from getting flares from my lupus; I had a flare so bad I almost ended up in the hospital. If lupus & other immunocompromised people can't get their meds, even more people will end up in the hosp.

Peter Morley: They're trying to ramp up production of these medicines but that takes time; also, we may rely on other countries for components of the medicines. If this truly turns out to be a cure, no other country will want to give up the meds or its components

Peter Morley: It took me about 4 mos to acclimate to this medicine; it's not an easy medicine to tolerate. I had terribly nausea & severe headaches in addition to weakness--and weakness is already a symptom of lupus.

Peter Morley: These medicines can cause retinal separation, so I need to get extensive eye exams twice a year to make sure I don't have it. This is a really difficult medicine & shouldn't be given out so easily.

Peter Morley: I had to work my way up to a full dose b/c I couldn't tolerate a full dose. This is not the miracle drug people may think it is.
