Confirmed cases increased 2.45% less than they did on March 26.

Deaths increase 0.12% more than they did on March 26.

Recovered cases increased 0.03% less than they did on March 26, which saw a bigger than usual jump.

China’s numbers look increasingly suspect to me. Let’s start with the fact that China has about 1.4 billion people while the U.S. has 327.2 million. ...

... This means the U.S. population is about 23⅓% of China's, which is another way of saying China's population is 428% of the U.S.’s, or that China has more than 4¼ times as many people as the U.S—whichever way helps you think about it best. ...

... Okay, now: as of March 26, the U.S. officially passed up China in its number of confirmed cases. So, the day before yesterday, the U.S. had 4,058 more cases, or 4.96% more, than China did. ...

... But as of yesterday, March 27, we had 18,163, or 21% more cases than China did. And over those 24 hours, confirmed cases in the U.S. increased 21.93% while confirmed cases in China increased only 5.77%. ...

... So, this means that the U.S. as not only passed up China in confirmed cases, but if the trend continues, our number of confirmed cases will increase exponentially—which is what’s normally expected to happen at this stage in a pandemic— ...

...while China’s appears to be slowing down.

On top of that, supposedly Italy (population: 60.5 million) not only now has 4,552 more confirmed cases than China (Italy: 86,498; China: 81,946), but Italy’s total deaths blows China’s out of the water. ...

... Italy reports 9,134 deaths, 5,835 more, i.e., 177% higher, than China’s 3,299 reported deaths. Of course, Italy’s death toll also blows the U.S.’s out of the water even though the U.S. has nearly 5½ times Italy's population.

But...China’s numbers...really? ...

... Perhaps they are now telling the truth. They certainly weren’t telling the truth in December and January, and the World Health Organization was also complicit in its negligence to seek verification of what China was reporting at that time, ...

... so all this tends too increase suspicion that China has rehired its favorite PR person, Rosie Scenario, to scrub its numbers for both internal and external consumption. ...

... Perhaps there’s a legitimate explanation for all this, and maybe we’ll learn that China really and truly did get a handle on the spread of COVID-19 and we’ll all be glad for them—well, kinda’, depending on how draconian or even cruel their methods may turn out to be. ...
