Still remember the time I was excoriating the then-recently late John McCain over his ACA vote and somebody from Hashtag Resistance replied that politics is one thing but I was talking about a man's life.

The ACA was lives, too?

Nobody was marching in the street or calling their electeds every day over the ACA because they wanted to score political points.
Now, at this late date, are we starting to get that "politics" is lives, too?

Today when we say (truthfully) that Trump called coronavirus the new hoax, the chorus from the right is we're lying, Trump meant the media and Democratic response to it. Sure he was. That's what he meant when he called the virus a hoax. Like when he called Russia a hoax.
And the idea behind this deflection is that he was right to say the Democrats were playing politics when they pushed for him to do more to slow the spread, that the media was playing politics when they undercut his "15 cases and going down" narrative.
It's not politics, it's lives. Or rather, politics is lives. Impacts lives. Can save lives, destroy them, or end them.
