Okay, so the PM is sending a letter. A physical one, which will arrive next week. But the official UK government Facebook account... which can be used to send messages instantly... has still only run one ad about coronavirus

I just don't get it. What am I missing?
Before someone jumps up to tell me that leaflets are more effective than social media ads - you can do both!
I may well be missing something, but it does seem that there are lots of comms levers the govt still isn't pulling

Look at the Tory website next to the SNP's. One has a redirect, the other's been converted into a coronavirus info site. Same story with emails to party members
My piece on this from last week. Remember, Facebook has offered the government millions in free ad credits so this would all be on the house

Just checked the ad library. Four more ads there this morning - video and images on both FB and Insta
Targeting on this ad via @kcorrick. Seems very general, which makes sense. But look at the image on the right (from ad no.1). When you leave the targeting vague, FB decides who to show the ad to, and it'll tend to favour groups who are *already* interested - in this case, women
