That big company, according to this story, was named Covidien, which later got swallowed up by @Medtronic. 🔽
The @CourthouseNews database shows that Covidien was sued dozens of times for racketeering in the national prescription opioid litigation, as the ex-parent company of manufacturer Mallinckrodt.

One complaint quoted Covidien's “Opioid
Safe Use and Handling Guide" like this.
Medtronic's website still lists Covidien products, including the ventilators that Covidien acquired by swallowing up Newport.

Newport is the company that was going to replenish the U.S. stockpile of ventilators before Covidien acquired it, per the NYT. medtronic.com/covidien/en-us…
