I have no idea what just happened but I'm pretty sure that the president just spread a massive conspiracy theory that New York City hospitals are selling their medical masks on the black market while telling the country they need them to save lives

Trump has now just accused New York of "hoarding" ventilators—referring to the storage of ventilators that'll be needed in the next 21 days—in a continuation of what's clearly an assault on the NY-NJ-CT area to punish it for not quickly agreeing to his illegal federal quarantine
Trump is now expressing his amazement that the coronavirus is in 150 countries, saying that some people didn't even know there were 150 countries...

...which is fascinating, because there are 192 countries and the coronavirus is presently in all 192 of them

Six days ago, there were 13,355 new coronavirus cases daily in the United States.

Just today, we'll be pushing 23,000 or 24,000 new cases.

I think Dr. Fauci needs to be clear(er) that avoiding doubling new cases every 24 hours is an *infinite* distance from a "flattening out."
PS/ While I understand Dr. Fauci is looking the last 96 hours—when we've gone from 19,452 news cases/daily to 23,000 or so—I think the focus on New York City appears to be blinding the administration to the growing crises in 25-30 other cities, whose numbers are far from peaking.
PS2/ Louisiana had 485 new cases yesterday; it has 1,212 new cases today—that's way more than double in 24 hours. Florida is at 1,037 today—up 33%+ from yesterday (754). New York: 6,646 yesterday, 8,470 today (up 25% in 24 hours). Georgia: 785 now, 349 yesterday—well over double.

Honestly I like both these brothers—and liked their dad, too. He came to Harvard Law to give a speech to the 1Ls and it was a big day for me, as I'd admired his oratory/values for years. I'm glad Gov. (Andrew) Cuomo has his eye firmly on the ball.
1/ This interview puts me in mind of something else. In 2016, I supported Sanders in the primary and endorsed Clinton in an article I published the day she spoke at the DNC. In that article I wrote about how it took me some time to "get" what her candidacy meant to so many.
2/ I'd wanted to vote for a woman for president in '16, but was so aligned with Sanders in some personal as well as political-vision ways I preferred him and was so focused on that that it took until the DNC for me to see things I should've understood earlier about Clinton's run.

MEDIA: You must clarify that while NYC is forecasting a peak in NEW DAILY CASES IN NEW YORK CITY in 2 weeks, the peak in terms of TOTAL NEW DAILY CASES IN AMERICA isn't projected to be April 12, as NYC is just the "canary in the coal mine" for major outbreaks in 25+ other cities.
PS/ If we were under a NATIONWIDE STAY-AT-HOME ORDER, that'd be different—states would be on a similar transmission schedule and the country would peak together. But that is not what's happening, and even places under stay-at-home orders are seeing insufficient social distancing.
PS2/ It's about to be April, and many cities are *just now* seeing a sudden, startling rise in cases (Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, DC, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Miami, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and others). April 12 is *not* a *national* peak.

Across the country, cities, towns and villages marked the sacrifice of generations of veterans, with Mike Pence laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
The Veterans Day parade grew out of a victory parade on Sept 10, 1919, when General John Pershing led 25,000 World War One veterans through the streets of NY. Nov 11 1919 was designated Armistice Day - a title still used in other countries - to mark the end of World War One.
