My son is starting virtual pre-k in 3 minutes and this makes me supremely sad.
Update: He’s all smiles seeing his teachers via zoom.
All the students are muted to manage sound. Which makes sense. But my son keeps trying to say little things to his teachers & he’s getting sad they can’t hear him. Or he’ll crack a little joke his classmates might have laughed at. And they can’t hear him.
All the kids are asking questions. “Is there still rest time?” “Will there be a lot of drawing time?” “Can we stay with you all day?” Truth is no: “grownups” (me/wife) are in charge throughout the day. Teachers set up a ton of amazing resources. And schedule. But we’re in charge
My son keeps raising his hand and not getting called on. Not because they’re ignoring him. Because this platform I guess is different and hard.
And morning assembly is over. Now it’s PE. Obstacle course time.
