I’ve never used this platform to just think out loud from a strictly personal perspective. I probably won’t in the future but right now I feel the need.
Had a really down day today. My level of sadness skyrocketed. Hearing about all these people dying and the WAY they’re dying. Not knowing if tomorrow might be the day someone I love touches the wrong doorknob or opens the wrong Amazon box.
I worry about my sons. I worry about Daisy scratching her beautiful nose. I worry about her brother in-law who’s an internist and his precious family in Florida where the stupid fucking governor finally took this shit seriously only TODAY!
I worry about my 84 year-old mother who’s been in isolation for weeks even from asymptomatic me because her immune system is so fragile. FaceTime is awesome but alone is still alone.
I’m also extremely angry, as are many of us. Angry at a bunch of clueless, self-serving assholes who, elected by us to do right by us, have failed us miserably and cost countless lives and anguish.
Angry at the many arrogant, ignorant as fuck shitstains who kept going to clubs and beaches and churches and who are PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE for putting strangers into body bags.
Today was bad. Tomorrow will be worse. I can’t really let myself think right now about the days that will follow. To all you decent humans, I wish you health and safety for yourselves and your cherished ones.
