#Information cascade alert!

The US #intelligence agencies are supposed to reveal all information they have with respect to the #OriginOfCovid

I wanted to use the opportunity to explain exactly what you will see happening in the media, no matter the content of those reports
🧵 Image
First, let's talk about expectations.

From the get-go, it is absolutely clear that there is no #smoking gun or similar to be expected.

The intelligence services all had access to the same information and most assessments are low confidence, with 4 agencies favoring #zoonosis. Image
Within the 'manmade' mythology, too many unverified stories are taken as gospel truth.

Overall, the best LLs can hope for is that the IC can verify some #circumstantial evidence that they have spun into their #mythology; but honestly, I highly doubt that.

#Distort, #discredit, #dismiss - 6 additional tactics of media manipulators and why they work to sabotage public discourse

Details follow:
1/ 6 types of media manipulators
Anti-science activism never went away, it got a new ugly face in the #information age:

Quacks, gurus, contrarian doctors, fake experts, influencers, political commentators and similar media manipulators.

Previously we looked at "merchants of #doubt"

Today, we take a look at the "merchants of #ambiguity"

Their overarching goal is to create the perception that scientific issues are either eternally #unresolved or that #alternative interpretations are just as plausible or likely.

Frustrating but important perspective by @PeterHotez:

"The phenomenon of red Covid was not a random occurrence but instead an expected outcome of predation linked to extremist politics"

Read in full:

A few thoughts follow 🔽…
In this perspective, Dr. Hotez offers some insights on the topics I have been writing & talking about, namely the #weaponization of conspiracy #myths by political actors to attack unwelcome scientific authority in public discourse.

He first outlines the damage: Needless deaths Image
How could it have come so far?

For Dr. Hotez, part of that answer lies with anti-science messaging from political elites; how else does one explain the "red covid" phenomenon?

Furthermore, there has been no course correction by political elites. If anything, they doubled down Image

We Solve Language Processing Problems For Enterprises - #straightfromtheheart by @rk_process9

#Organizations, #businesses, institutions generate a lot of #information which needs to be distributed to all concerned, in #languages that they can understand.
1/n Image
This requires #translation , not one way but both ways to establish a #communication channel. In an organization, there are often numerous information exchange touch-points, as well as information is created in many formats.
Translating all such information efficiently and timely can be a nightmare. Any delay can cause loss of a business opportunity. We therefore found it essential to enable our customers in a 360-degree way to ensure that they become truly #multilingual.

@fiocruz @cmmorel @KropfSimone Here are some more highlights from the talk:

First: How do scientists deal with uncertainty and how can this help us inform ourselves about the most likely

It comes down to asking P(Evidence|Hypothesis):
@fiocruz @cmmorel @KropfSimone Second:
What is the state of evidence (now in 2023) for a #zoonotic origin of SARS-CoV-2 versus a #lableak ?

So, ich hab ja gesagt ich komme drauf zurück.

Warum die BW zu viele Generale/Admirale hat.

Der Ursprungsthread war ja mit einem Hauch Sarkasmus versehen. Aufgabe: Gib ein Statement was triggered!

So ganz grob zusammengefasst.

Does your team have an information problem on their hands? Let's find out! 🔍Here are 5 Steps for Identifying and Addressing Information Weaknesses in Your Team 👇
#1: Understand the types of information being created and shared within the team.

Name and categorize the information you create: insights, decisions, features sets, limitations, etc. When you know what type of information is created and shared, you understand how to manage it.
#2. Recognize the lifecycle of information and identify short-term vs long-term value.

This refers to the creation, collaboration, sharing, updates, maintenance, and archival of information. By knowing what’s short-term versus long-term, we know better what to prioritize.

However, evidence continues to mount in favor of the decline.

A recent follow up to the heavily criticized meta-analysis by Levine et al indicates an even steeper decline than they found in 2017.…

The reason I named my company "Holistic" is we use every vertical of search, and optimization.

I never defended or advocated one method of optimization over another.

Read to understand, why #ChatGPT can't replace real #SEO.

A thread with 7 Insights. 🧵1/7 Image
1. Don't be afraid of #AI #content, but understand one universal fact: semantics outperform random patterns.

Reason: LLMs work with "rewarding" systems. It calculates the most probable word and chooses it. The next sentence comes from the previously selected sentence.
2. There are certain ways of increasing the relevance, and quality of the information in certain search query contexts.

Reason: LLMs will miss most of these contexts, and they will go outside the query semantics most of the time.

40 Deep #SEO Insights for 2023:

-In 2023, F-O-C-U-S on "Information Density, Richness, and Unique Added Value" with Microsemantics.

I call the collection of these, "Information Responsiveness".

1/40 🧵.
1. PageRank Increases its Prominence for Weighting Sources

Reason: #AI and automation will bloat the web, and the real authority signals will come from PageRank, and Exogenous Factors.

The expert-like AI content and real expertise are differentiated with historical consistency.
2. Indexing and relevance thresholds will increase.

Reason: A bloated web creates the need for unique value to be added to the web with real-world expertise and organizational signals. The knowledge domain terms, or #PageRank, will be important in the future of a web source.

Episode 75 is out!

@hhariri gives advice on how to deal with information overload within a company.

Check out the full interview:…

Hosted by @FancyKarolina, powered by @codingsans

#EngineeringManagement #information #communication
Here are a few takeaways:

1. Categorize information

Don't push everything on employees. Learn what needs to be communicated proactively, and what information they should be allowed to pull for themselves. This helps you avoid information overload.
2. Consider asynchronous standups

Daily standups aren't suitable for every team. As an alternative, you can encourage your team to document their weekly input, and go through each others' logs at the end of the week to see what their peers have been up to.

By this they meant the toxic system whereby the ruling elite enjoyed a parasitic relationship with the state enabling them to obtain jobs and money through patronage, partisanship and purchase.
