Just been checking some of the Regional figures. That London is bad is a given but Birmingham is really suffering. Nearly 1k cases and remember the bulk of these is from testing respiratory admissions

Hampshire, Sheffield, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Kent, Cumbria, Essex & Lancs⬆️
I always like to keep an eye on Gloucestershire (224) and neighbouring Worcestershire (277 - maybe an overspill from Birmingham) so pressure surely building.

That is the question that keeps bugging me because surely intensive & large scale testing is triply important were it seen as a strategy rather than a consequence, for you sure as hell need to know who has got it, who is immune and who to shield?
Without that there is no strategy.

I concluded that the whole response has been driven by a desire to try and hide the consequence of the hugely politically embarrassing truth. That 15 years of curpts have hollowed out our “diagnostic industry” and our tracing capacity.

9442 tested. (183,190 total) 6570 people
10,984 tests were carried out yesterday in England so not all the results are in.
3,735 +ve. (41,903 total). 2.5 tests for every +ve
708 Died (4313 total) 10.29%
1 week ago today 260 people died in a day so today is 2.72 times
If you wonder why there are more tests than people tested remember that good practice before discharge is that 2 tests should be run 24 hours apart as low levels of COVID maybe missed in one test
The deaths are HOSPITAL deaths

1. Why did Trump say what he said about not hearing about #testing for weeks? Donald's a very obvious liar. But why? Testing is thing that will not only mar his presidency but also threatens his freedom. IMO he didn't get testing going because he made it conditioned on a bribe.
2. He's now sticking to his defense that the testing is fine. IMO Trump & likely Kushner planned a quick shakedown from @CDCgov absurd singe testing supplier. It could have been for political contribution but I'm certain Trump was leveraging the testing. Keep after him on it.
