that mitigate the influence between the aftermath of such injustices & #health. (#Structuralracism has to be addressed to do this.) This is done in #partnership with communities. For too long too many #Scientists (me included) have been #complicit in documenting differences 3/6
without acknowledgement of root causes (i.e. #racism). #PoliceBrutality, vigilante justice & #AntiBlackRacism aren't new, but have now garnered international attention. This creates opportunities to do REAL work toward eliminating injustice at ALL levels 4/6
My personal motto is "changing the world, one community at a time". While my heart is beyond grieved seeing where we are--especially as the mom of a BEAUTIFUL Black boy--I am impassioned to stay the course until I fulfill my life's mission. 5/6
