On Sunday, South Korea imposed a 24-hour standstill order on all poultry farms across the country after a series of highly pathogenic cases of bird flu.
All poultry farms and livestock production facilities, including their vehicles and employees, will be subject to a travel ban until Sunday, with disinfection work to be performed during the time, the authorities said.
It was the second time a national standstill order was given over cases of bird flu this month. A 48-hour standstill order was issued on Dec. 12. The order's violators could face up to one year in prison or a 10 million won ($9,000) fine.
South Korea reported three more cases of highly pathogenic bird flu in poultry last week, bringing the total caseload this year to 22 in the face of increasing concerns about the disease spreading across the country.

A conversation between President Xi and Commission chief von der Leyen, which could take place on Wednesday, should bring final clarity.
Why is it important?
The agreement is considered to be the most comprehensive attempt by the EU to reorganize its relationship with the second largest economic power China. The goals are more market access and better competitive conditions.
