This is James. I'll take half the question, because I still don't fully understand where @donguillory was going with the Hitler comparison. But I'll take the Trump half.

My point didn't have anything to do with his disabilities/deformities. My point was that I feel like Trump was used as a puppet by people who appealed to his base desires for power and women (also power, as he doesn’t care about them).

I do feel every person who has refused to stand up to him and who has encouraged this acts in much the same manner that Max does. They appeal to making Trump feel like he’s important and powerful. Max doesn’t give a shit about Penguin

and I don’t think these people give a shit about Trump. That doesn’t mean he’s not committing crimes on his own or that I think he’s innocent, just that I think others are trying to advance off of how they can use him while he thinks he’s using everyone else.

None of that has anything to do with Penguin’s deformities or his disabilities. He’s still intellectual. If anything, Max is exploiting the way Gotham has felt bad for him up until now… Trump doesn’t have that, so I didn’t compare it to that.

Saying that the way someone might have approached Trump was similar to how Max approached Penguin doesn’t mean that Trump has to meet every physical descriptor of the Penguin.

I would also say it’s a live show when it’s recorded. We don’t have everything planned out. We don’t get everything right. We also don't say things just to rub people the wrong way and while it sucks, sometimes that just happens.

It’s part of doing a show that is all opinion and three or four people talking over each other and cutting one another off each episode. With that said, I offer you an apology if I upset you in any way as that’s never my intention
