For four or five years, our mother was suffering from rheumatism. She was bedridden.
But then my mother had a great wish to have darshan of Periyava. How could it happen?
When supplicated to Periyava with much hesitation, he said, "Bring her".
Taking Mother in a car, we parked it at the entrance of the #temple where Periyava was staying. @almightykarthik
Periyava's sight, fell on the car. The sadas(assembly), of vedic pandits was going on inside the #temple. Hearing the noise of the car, they muttered their disapproval & looked at us with disdain.
But then Periyava, as if he was calling a child, called my mother,@Aravindh_partha
"vA...vA" (come..come). My brother & I supported Mother & took her near him.
"MaNi, seat her with care" Periyava said, & started talking to Mother. In the rush of #Emotions, my Mother could not talk to Him properly. Somehow she managed to narrate to Him about our family problems.
He gave her his anugraham, "Everything will be alright gradually... don't worry."
When Mother was talking, Periyava asked me many times, "MaNi, is that your mother talking?" I said, "yes". Only later the reason, was known.
In her last days, Mother could not talk @KanchiMatham
& she breathed her last in that state of health. Only this the great sage, had indicated to us on that day.

#Sattology says that Sri Rama installed Shiva Lingam here to nullify Brahmahatya Paapa of killing Ravana. He selected this beautiful valley surrounded by hills & verdant greenery for the purpose & ordered Hanuman to bring a Sivalingam from #Varanasi. @RajeAiyer@Nidhi7007
Hanuman was late in arriving with Shiva lingam & as the Muhurtham was nearing, Mahadev himself appeared before Sri Rama & presented a Shiva lingam for installation. Hence the lingam in the #Temple is called Swayambhu Lingam. @almightykarthik@harshasherni@pujari_anup
#Experiences with Sri Maha Periva - Vacate the mandapam immediately!
The camp, was in Anakunti, on the banks of the #Tungabhadra river. One can see the ruined cut images, of the Krishnadevaraya empire, here. Around 2 o' clock in the afternoon, he gave his shiShyas sudden & urgent
orders to immediately vacate the mandapam, where the cooking & dining was done, & move to the place adjacent to the Annapoorani #Temple. "There would be a cat & its kitten staying in the samaiyalKaTTu (kitchen). Drive them away too." @almightykarthik@srinivazvasu@KanchiMatham

It was in 2015, a committee was formed with the help of local villagers and renovation work started to reconstruct the Temple structure. On 10.06.2016 the Maha Kumbabhishekham was performed in a grand manner and on 31.07.2016 Mandal Abhishekham was performed.

2. #Sattology about this Temple: A 110 feet high, 7 stage, east facing RajaGopuram is the one that welcomes us first. Sri Adi Shankaracharya had done Beejakshara Pradhishta to Simha theertham. This temple is also known as ‘Baskara Kshetram’ @Tanvangi17@almightykarthik
3. because Surya Bhagwan is said to worship Linga when its rays fall on it in the month of Panguni (March-April); The name of the place as Virinchipuram came from #Sattology that the #Temple was worshiped by Brahma, i.e., Virinchi; The #theertha of this Temple @onlyaravindh
