You don’t have to be a genius to realise that #MasksReduceTransmission of airborne viruses.

During a pandemic it is only the supremely selfish or ignorant who’d refuse to #WearAMask to protect others & deny their own children the right to wear one at school.

As a Dr in A&E & UTCs I’m well placed to see how the government’s catastrophic management of #COVID19UK is effecting patient care in both Primary & Secondary care.

We’re told both past & present @ChildrensComm s support the plan by @halfon4harlowMP to prevent schools closing again, even if they have a #COVID outbreak (or for other outbreaks like Norovirus presumably?).

We must therefore assume they’re comfortable w/ charts like this👇🏼?

“Children w/ underlying conditions are no less precious. Their parents don’t love them any less!”

ALL CHILDREN ARE PRECIOUS!

Children aren’t supposed to die.

🇬🇧schools, esp 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, are still v unsafe.

Parents are being punished for trying to protect their kids from a highly contagious #airborne 🦠
Unless @nadhimzahawi @educationgovuk take immediate action, #COVID19 will almost inevitably reach every child & will also spread to family members & staff who may be vulnerable.

It shocks me that so many of us keep saying this & STILL no one is listening!

Nailed it @karamballes, never has a “grass roots” parents group been more inappropriately named.

#UsForUs would be far more apt!

These particular parents are the v same people arguing against 😷s & vaccine passports & just about anything we know ⬇️s transmission.

If they actually cared about children’s health & wellbeing AND wanted to reduce educational disruption, they’d have put their weight & influence behind making 🇬🇧schools safer.
They’ve had months to do it & have wealth & political influence on their side.
So why have they not?

It’s quite obvious now, it’s all about THEIR FREEDOMs & THEIR RIGHTs.

They don’t want to #WearAMask or compromise their social lives, restrict their travel & they certainly don’t want to be involved in home schooling.

On Dec 12th 2019 I cried.

Every #Tory MP who signed up to #GetBrexitDone” however utterly sh*t it was, at THAT MOMENT, sealed our fate.

Personal ambition & greed trumped any sense of public duty or responsibility.

ANYTHING @BorisJohnson wanted to do was made possible.

His wealthy backers & sycophantic MP & media facilitators rubbed their hands w/ glee, no-one could touch him now!

A man lacking any moral compass who dreamed of being king, a terrifying combination, both disastrous for the UK & lethal for many 1000s.

He simply does not care!

@Jeremy_Hunt & @sajidjavid , I’m a 55yr old PART-TIME GP, working in A+E & UTCs, working ~25hrs per week.

Between Mar-Oct 20 I willingly ⬆️ my hours significantly, to staff our “Hot Site” & be part of the Covid Home Visiting team, regularly only having 1 full day off/week.

It almost broke me & caused significant strain on my family.

In Dec/Jan 21, I jumped at the chance to help vaccinate ppl living in Care Homes, giving up days off without a second thought.

I doubt there’s a single one of us who hasn’t worked many extra hrs during #COVID19UK.

The job of a dr is not something that can be done easily/well when exhausted, stressed, distracted….

The jobs we do require 100% focus every minute of every working day, because if we don’t, our patients can suffer or even die.

Tired drs can be dangerous drs!
