4. Rumours circulate about their starring in an upcoming film
5. Photoshoot happens with 1-2 reputable magazines
If the star kid is A list, it'll be with a lah Dee dah grade magazine like Vogue, else magazines like Grazie, Filmfare etc
6. Motion Poster of film releases
7. Articles appear about the star kids journey, their role models, thanks to the producer sir for opportunity etc
8. The star kids quote their inspirations. If their film is a multiplex type, the inspiration is always Hollywood. If it's a masala film / single screen movie, it's always an Indian film
9. They appear in a Manish Malhotra dress, in a Instagram post
10. The star parents, who usually are retired, leading a quiet, dignified graceful life, now come in articles too, attend a few parties, thank the producers, mention how proud they are of their kids
11. All Insta & Twitter posts are now liked, shared by the whole film fraternity
12. The trailer releases
13. Bollywood Meltdown. Everyone is gushing, oohs and aahs from Bandra to Lokhandwala. Social media & PR goes crazy
14. Favourable comparisons are made vs star parents, with the parent usually chipping in with 'They have to find their own style'
15. News articles & posts from producers begin, about how fantastic the actors were, how easily they responded to the challenge. Also congratulating everyone on XX million views reached in YY days / hours
16. The kids do ramp walks in fashion shows with the usual suspects
17. Whispers begin about lead pair 'chemistry'. Their special bond, as They're spotted together eating ice cream, gym training, going to a movie. Romantic involvement rumours go into overdrive, esp if it's a lead debut pair. Else the other actor still has to go through with it
18. They start to appear in TV shows. The A listers will definitely come on Big Boss, Kapil Sharma and Tarak Mehta + India cricket matches etc. The others scramble amongst the talent, dance and singing shows
19. There's a desperate attempt to find a suitable niche for the actors
Vegan
Action Star
Sustainability
Fashionista (kept even #SonamKapoor occupied while all her films flopped!)
Vegan
Energetic
LGBT supporter
Alignment happens even with causes the actors haven't heard of previously
This is crucial at this stage to set a platform for the kids
In case their film flops
20. The film releases. Again, Bollywood goes crazy. Preview shows get Amitabh Bachchan and all other lesser mortals. Fake stories planted everywhere about their acting prowess, crowd reactions and housefull shows etc.
21. 10% of the films are a hit. These kids are described as the next big thing, put on Bollywood power lists and instantly installed into the future Hall of Fame (like how Obama was given the Nobel Prize when he became President!)
22. 20% of films do decent business, breakeven
These kids are commended for their talent. They thank the audience for their love & support. And instantly their next projects are announced
23. The remaining 70% don't do well, but are still praised to high heavens, if A list kids. Rumours begin on how film subject wasn't right
Or the release strategy had flaws. Or the audiences weren't mature enough to understand the movie. The A listers get a few more cracks at stardom (Abhishek Bachchan is the untouchable legend here) while others fade quietly away, resurfacing every now and then, only to sink again
24. The really persistent flop kids, especially silver spooners, after a few years also try to turn to their 'true passion' / real objective and try their hand at directing / producing etc
25. 80% of all romances, causes amongst the non hit actors stop immediately
Unlike any of the previous 6 #WorldCup I've attended, this is by far the most painful, most expensive one already
The govt needs to step in to provide more, cheaper accommodation options right away
Also, the sites aren't functioning well
We got tickets in the morning but neither the Hayya site or the Accommodation site recognise the ticket application or the individual ticket numbers yet
Given my love for #travel, thought I'd compile a thread of some of the best #tourism ads I've seen over the years
Am keeping it restricted to #PrintAds, and only those by #tourismboards, whether national, state or city
Hope you enjoy it 🙂🥂 and are inspired to travel
We could warm up with #Australia's 'So Where The Bloody Hell Are You' campaign, which turned a lot of heads thanks to it's choice of wording and, of course, the stunning visuals
Politeness can be over rated, eh @Australia 🖖🏾
As far as accidental tourism ads go, #Banff in #Canada capitalized on a squirrel photobombing a couple's pic and made him their mascot, even creating a Twitter id for the little fella and featuring him in a whole set of ads
Hilarious Thread re #Omicorn, received via Whatsapp
In just 48 hrs everything just went upside down. Looking at all the updates and social media posts, a colleague from my legal fraternity outlined the absurd response from the countries. Read On 😀
South Africa: Hey guys, look what we discovered in our labs while researching Covid19 variants and mutations
World: What??
SA: It's a new variant of Covid19 - seems to be different than others. Let’s work together & study further.
World: What? You have a new variant of Covid?!
SA: No no, we just found a way to 'identify' it. It seems, it has already been detected in HongKong, Israel & Botswana.
UK: Hey guys, no offence, but we already have 45,000 cases a day, we don't wear masks everywhere, allow large gatherings. But we can't risk a new variant.
Kind folks of Twitter, I need help in solving a personal issue ie lifting my sister
Avani, the angel of our world, is handicapped, no limb movement or communication possible. She has to be lifted from her bed on to her pram & vice versa about 6-8 times a day
Two of us usually do the lifting, one from the shoulders, the other from the legs
Am assuming she weighs about 45-50 kgs and since no communication is possible, her body is inert and lifting isn't easy, though within our family we've been managing last 40 years
Of late, twice while lifting (I usually do the shoulders, the heavier side), I've had terrible back spasms / nerve pulls rendering me completely immobile for a couple of days, with recovery taking ~2 weeks
It happened first time 3 months ago and I'm still suffering from the 2nd
