The killing continues: #Ukraine still under real pressure in the eastern #Donbas region, but signs that the US supplied weapons in particular are beginning to cause real problems for #Russia.

#Mykolaiv came under heavy attack in the early hours this morning. We are still awaiting full details.

At least 8 missiles were launched by #Russia's army. Some landed in #Nikolaev according to the mayor

Although it's Day 129 of this thread and the full invasion, please remember this war started over 8 years ago.
In two weeks it will be the 8th anniversary of the MH17 massacre when 300 were murdered by #Russia. Had we acted decisively then, we wouldn't need to spend billions now.

Not much difference in the estimation of #Russia's war losses today.

Already since then another helicopter has been downed, while the total of soldiers to have died will reach 36,000 in tomorrow's update.

The morning report from UK Intelligence again seems to make excuses for #Russia's repeated hitting of civilian targets.

Yesterday #Russia again said they were in control of parts of #Lysychansk.

However, the Gov of #Luhansk says #Ukraine's army pushed back attacks at the oil refinery and the gelatin plant south of the town.

My assessment: 🇷🇺 largely controls the refinery but nowhere else.

Most eyes in #Ukraine on the east, in #Donbas.
But, in the north-east fierce battles continue.

In #Kharkiv region, at least 18 separate towns/villages were shelled including the city itself, while in #Sumy oblast they report almost 300 rockets were fired by #Russia in 24 hours

On the southern front, #Ukraine's army reports a successful evening.

In #Kherson and #Mykolaiv regions it's claimed artillery and aircraft destroyed "27 Russian rocket launchers, a Tor anti-aircraft missile system, a Howitzer and 3 units of armoured/automotive equipment."

Plenty of explosions on the frontline already today in #Donetsk region.

A little outrage over claims #Ukraine shelled the #Kursk region over the border inside #Russia.

The statement from the local authority says no-one was injured and they published this video. Literally looks like someone dug a hole, oh, and there was a broken window somewhere!

#Germany has rightly been criticised for its slow and underwhelming support of #Ukraine's defence, but promising signs..

Reports that 4 Russians are dead, another 10 injured in occupied #Tokmak, in #Zaporizhzhia oblast.

But #Ukraine cannot take credit. It's reported this is "Orcs arguing among themselves" while trying to sort out who should bag loot stolen by #Russia's army

Also in #Zaporizhzhia region, there was overnight shelling of #Ukraine held town of #Orikhiv.

The local authority says high-rise apartments, houses and outbuildings in the centre of Orikhiv were affected. No deaths reported.

Another damning intercepted phone call from a Russian soldier to his wife.

#Ukraine Intel releases a few of these, some have been proven, NONE proven to be fake.

Here the man says they are "told just to finish off ukrop" and his wife laughs when he tells how he slit throats.

#Russia announces it is in complete control of #Lysychansk.

It's the last remaining town of note in #Luhansk region. If this is true, it's a huge blow to #Ukraine just days after "retreating to more secure positions"

I saw reports earlier today of #Ukraine happening to find masses of computer files which incriminate #Russia.

As there has been no proof of this I did not report it as if it was the other way around, I would immediately say "propaganda". However Sky and others are now reporting

The illegitimate president of #Belarus makes an outlandish claim that "a few days ago, the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to strike at military facilities in Belarus."

Aleksander Lukashenko says all the missiles were intercepted.

#Russia says it is "extremely likely" to control all of #Luhansk before the end of the day.

#Lysychansk was the last town remaining, but there are a few other settlements which #Ukraine did control. It looks like a retreat to avoid encirclement, but #Kyiv is still silent.

Four key ministries of the "Donetsk Republic" are now run by Russians, not natives of #Donetsk or even #Ukraine.

Yet still many still don't see the ridiculous fairytale of the "DPR" being a genuine "separatist" movement.

Reports tonight that a train in occupied #Melitopol has derailed.

It was apparently carrying armoured vehicles according to 24's sources.

A fire has hit the museum/estate of Rimsky-Korsakov in the #Pskov region.

Officials say the fire is contained but it seems 50% of the exhibits were destroyed.
