Now journalists have described him as "fiercely independent" (a health risk in #Russia) and found he once oversaw a case involving Kadyrov's daughter.

Nothing directly to suggest a targeted murder, but it's murky and likely more to come.

Early this morning you may have heard about drone strikes on #Kyiv.

In fact there was just one Kamikaze drone which landed, well outside the city, in the wider Kyiv region. There was a small fire in the #Makariv area west of Kyiv, no casualties.

Invaders in #Donbas say they've captured two small villages south of #Bakhmut

A statement from the puppet "republics" of #Donetsk and #Luhansk states they've gained Opytne + Ivanhrad.

I believe it to be true - no denial from #Ukraine and I've reported on #Russia's advance there

Some photos have been posted online of the devastation in #Opytne, which #Russia claims to have captured today.

... and yesterday evening a video was posted online which I think is from south of #Bakhmut (RU: #Artemovsk), not far from #Opytne.

It's looking very likely now that the rocket which hit the top of an apartment block in #Tavrov, #Belgorod region was indeed Russian

A number of old missiles previously malfunctioned; as others were fired at #Ukraine this morning from Belgorod I'm confident #Russia hit their own

In #Poltava region, two #Ukraine Air Force planes crashed near the same small town in successive days.

The incidents happened in #Shyshaky, around 30km NW of Poltava.

Locals say two pilots ejected from the Su-24 seen here. No further details released.

This little boy this afternoon died in hospital hours after being rescued from the wreckage caused by #Russia's bombing.

Gov of #Mykolaiv, Vitaliy Kim says he had a cardiac arrest at the hospital.

Nimble needle-workers made the largest and heaviest knitted flag of #Ukraine.

The patches are now being recycled into blankets for migrants.

After criticism from #Ukraine's President, the @ICRC has issued a statement saying #Russia has barred them from visiting POWs at the infamous Olenivka jail.

The explosions I reported a few minutes ago have led to a fire at the Thermal Power Plant in the city, or at least a substation therein.

Some residents complain of power cuts.

Here's some good news. A #Wagner contractor and an FSB officer have requested political asylum in #France and will testify against #Putin's and #Russia's war crimes.
