Again a relatively quite night in the #RussiaUkraineWar. but still news coming up of rocket attacks by Russia and more heavy losses for the invaders.

I estimated 100,000 Russian soldiers would be killed shortly after the "western"/Catholic Christmas. Now it looks like it will happen just before then as high losses continue for #Russia

As well as another 500+ killed, an uptick in drone hits and a helicopter brought down.

Civilians escaped injury (mainly thanks to evacuation) when two rocket attacks by #Russia hit a village in the south of #Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Property was damaged.

#Russia reports #HIMARS launched on occupied territory in #Luhansk.

They claim 8 missiles as well as 155mm artillery was fired on #Svatove, #Starobilsk and the village of #Khoroshe a little further south.
No further news given, notably they didn't say they were shot down.

Detectives in London have arrested a Russian oligarch

The 58 year old's not being named yet, but is one of 3 men detained by the National Crime Agency investigating money laundering, conspiracy to defraud the Home Office and conspiracy to commit perjury

Every day, locals in occupied #Tokmak in #Zaporizhzhia region report a fleet of vehicles delivering #Russia's soldiers (dead, nearly dead & injured) to the hospital.

A Commander of #Ukraine's Joint Forces admits they're "preparing an adequate response" as growing numbers of enemy troops gather on the northern border in #Belarus.

But Serhiy Naev says "currently there's no threat. The work we do increases the resilience of our defences."

Head of the #IAEA @rafaelmgrossi says a deal is close to secure the safety of #Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in #Enerhodar.

#Ukraine's demands that #Russia removes weapons from the plant is reportedly agreed.

This is in #Russia's second city, where the Irinovsky market in St. Petersburg is burning strongly.

The blaze has already spread to neighbouring buildings, many of which contain oils and other flammable materials.

It's now reported in #Russia that Mikhail Friedman is the oligarch who was arrested.
He was born in #Lviv, #Ukraine but during USSR times and was co-founder of AlfaBank.
He, a man who worked for him and another acquaintance have all been released on bail.

Tragedy in #Izium as two men died when their car hit a Russian mine.

It seems from the photo they were collecting and delivering bread in this area of #Kharkiv oblast, which is still suffering from the effects of #Russia's previous occupation.

#Ukraine says it's shot down another enemy plane in #Donetsk this afternoon.

The General Staff claims it happened near the village of Pidhorodne.

They also report 13 strikes on #Russia's bases and hit one of their anti-aircraft missile complexes.

For the first time in more than 9 months #Ukraine's flag is flying on the left bank of the river Dnipro in #Kherson oblast.

Troops from the Karlson special unit flew the flag and released this video, but they are not saying the exact location of the symbolic victory🇺🇦

#Kherson's sky turned red after the rockets hit the city earlier this evening.

It's not yet known what damage, or casualties, resulted from the most recent strikes.
