Day 355 of the brutal war started by #Russia on its peaceful neighbour. Very nearly 10 years since the first invasion of #Ukraine and the world did nothing, hoping the aggression would stop. The world did the same after Georgia. Nothing stopped. Dictators don't stop voluntarily
I'm tweeting from Manchester airport ahead of the Premiere of my new film "Ukraine: A War On Two Fronts" in Brussels this lunchtime.
I should be able to post a link to the live stream here a little nearer the time.
Before I go any further, immense thanks to Scott Vierling for the very generous donation via Ko-Fi which I saw when the alarm clock went off far too early!
Thanks to everyone for all support, be it cash, encouragement or tip-offs.💙💛
1/2 First I've thought long and hard about whether to even link to this clip.
It's a GRAPHIC violent "execution" of a man who says he was fighting with #Wagner but realised "it was not his war" and fled to Dnipro, but the Mercenaries supposedly caught him
#Wagner makes little secret it executes those who surrender or desert #Russia's illegal mercenary unit.
However, this video hasn't come from any "official" Wagner channels I've seen, so I've not 100% convinced yet.
#Ukraine says frostbite is proving a big problem for #Russia.
The "low level of provision of winter uniforms" for #Russia's invaders has seen a big spike in cases according to #Kyiv's sources.
They say for example 30% of all wounded patients in Occupied #Horlivka has frostbite.
Another photo shows the damage. The invaders repeatedly hit different buildings in this small town claiming #Ukraine troops are there. This may be a medical centre.
#RussiaOnFire
This is from yesterday evening. The ill fated "Moscow City" project hit another snag.
More smoke billowed out of one of the towers under construction.
#Ukraine's 59th Brigade is claiming a recent hit on a warehouse in occupied #Donetsk
They releaed this video saying they struck a weapons/ammo store of the invaders.
A captain in #Ukraine's army has acknowledged mobilisation is happening at a greater pace and is needed.
“Whether citizens like it or not, mobilisation must be carried out, because the Ukrainian army needs new fighters” said Aleksandr Hanushchin, captain of 103rd Troop Brigade.
A nightwatchman was killed in #Kherson this morning.
More heavy shelling across the city so far today.
Here are some screenshots from a video the local council released from the scene of the killing.
The press conference and streaming of the Documentary "Ukraine: A War On Two Fronts" will be shown live on Youtube here.
We're starting in 5 minutes:
Live From Brussels.
Hope you enjoyed the launch + conference for the new documentary. It had a great reception here in Brussels. I was deluged with questions after, so quite a bit of #Ukraine news to catch up on.
After the provocative statement from Elon Musk's Chief of Starlink, he's now come out and said the system is still working in #Ukraine, a fact verified by Ukrainian army staff themselves, for the time being anyway.
#NATO Secretary jens Stoltenberg has used the latest Ramstein meeting to reassure #Ukraine it will receive modern aircraft for self defence.
He also said Putin is "not preparing for peace, but launching a new offensive. Ukraine must be armed before Russia seizes the initiative."
1/2 At first US put out a statement urging its citizens to leave #Russia, I didn't think much of it as surely most knew the risks.
Now #France has told people to evacuate #Belarus immediately, while #Brazil says citizens must ugently leave both RU + BLR.
They won't be the last
2/2 While official statements say it's to do with the war, there are rumours of intel that any residents inside #Russia and/or #Belarus, irrespective of their nationality, could be forced to sign up in the coming round of mobilisation.
Interesting thread, which ends with US sports commentator apologising for "Russian" slip of the tongue about #Ukraine international Ruslan Malinovskyi, and donating $100 to Ukraine fund.
Welcome to the daily thread for Sunday 12 February.
It's Day 354 of the #RussiaUkraineWar and all the news and analysis you need is here in one handy thread.
If you missed something yesterday, click and scroll here:
Today's data show another 900 deaths for #Russia but also noteworthy figures of tanks and artillery systems destroyed - both well above the daily mean.
Day 353 of the war in Europe. #Ukraine fights for a nation, for liberty, in the name of democracy. #Russia fights for a small man in a bunker breaking, committing war crimes.
Here's yet another daily🧵 all the news in one place.
Hello and welcome to the daily thread about #Ukraine and its defence against #Russia's illegal invasion.
This is Day 352 since last February's all out attack, but now very nearly 9 years since the original invasion. The more the west did nothing, the bolder Putin became:

It was particularly telling when a Russian protest group managed to find out #Russia, once cameras has gone, stole back fur coats they'd given to grieving relatives for their losses:
Last night there was a drone wave sent in to Ukraine territory and as I wrote at the time it could well be the precursor to another full missile attack.
That does seem to be happening now with launches detected and mass devastation and death again a possbility for the innocent
Here is my daily thread number 351 on the #Russia-#Ukraine war. One for each day of the war.
News and analysis of all events covering #Putin's illegal war.
Yesterday's thread was limited by Twitter.
I (and most others) were unable to post after 9.30pm UK time. #StandWithUkraine
In case you were wondering about that tweet which couldn't be loaded, I found it quite amusing as Chancellor Scholz went straight past his flag and to the #Ukraine lectern before being corrected by Zelenskyy!
President @ZelenskyyUa is now arriving in #Brussels to meet EU officials as he continues his mission to get fighter aircraft for #Ukraine.
We've had almost a year now and it really angers me that no-one foresaw this. We never truly protected Ukraine as Russia controls the skies.
We've reached day 350 of #Russia's insane war on #Ukraine
Here's another daily thread.
Tense scenes at the front with pressure mounting on #Bakhmut every hour, but fewer attacks in the rest of Ukraine. #Kharkiv was shelled last night, you can recap here
Hello and welcome to day 349 of #Russia's war of choice.
#Ukraine still defends valiantly, but the west's tardiness to act has placed them under severe pressure for the next 6 weeks until trained troops return with some new toys.
All the news in one thread, read on...
First the link to yesterday in case you were busy or just want a summary.
A lot of flim flam was written but actually you missed very little. Here's one of the shortest threads of the last 11 months so far:
