Just as mentioned, from my enquiries here lies the main cause of INTELS’ contract cancellation at @nigerianports
I have once talked about biases, (see Thread here 👉🏽 )
There are things we read and quickly connect to things we hope to be true based on precedence or what is prevalent in the clime.
Politicians too take advantages of the quickest conclusions and sentiments of the public on sensitive matters.
Of cause with the Presidential bid of Atiku one would expect anything that happens to his business operation to have stemmed from his bid...
..especially if it has to do with the current Government. But here are the facts which you all can verify through your means.
We all reacted to the breaking News here 👉🏽 and took their words for it.
First thing here is that it wasn’t @MBuhari that terminated the contract of INTELS let alone it being over 2019.
If it were it would have been petty, vindictive and unsavory as I earlier quipped. But it is interesting to note that the President...
...the President is yet to send any order to NPA on any matter since the resumption of @hadizabalausman
It turns out INTELS blatantly refused to comply with the strict policy of the NPA on TSA. But let me break that down...
The discourse has been on since June 2016 ladies and gentlemen. The size of the business of INTELS is huge enough to intimidate anyone.
So firms of such network often make their own rules. They also can payoff anyone (not alleging that they tried here) so it is understandable
That they stand their grounds on modus operandi and try to influence their means of conducting business with the Authority.
For those who know, INTELS collect revenue on behalf of the Nigerian Ports & were asked to remit the funds to TSA inline with the Policy
They were written from June 2016 up until the termination of their contract but they declined compliance. In fairness they fear being owed
Their concern is about delay of payment due to government bureaucracy should they remit to TSA. To which the NPA boss proposed an interest..
...on delayed payment. She assured them of interest on delayed payment should the time lapse for their services but they declined still.
Hadiza went further to propose that they pay Govt revenue to the Govt TSA account and raise an invoice for their services.
She added that the Ports will pay for their services as well as amortization & should there be a delay interests will be paid.
This sound fair in my own opinion, but as it seems (yet to hear from INTELS though) they want to collect the revenue & pay themselves.
Then remit the balance to the Ports. But that was seen as spending Govt’s money on their behalf. So this is where the issue lies.
So let’s just say the termination was due to unreconcilable differences of parties. But how about the 12000 workers who stand to lose jobs?
There certainly would be a transparent process of engaging another firm to provide the services rendered by INTELS and experienced...
...workers can be hired based in their skills over the years.
I think the political twist (that got me also via the news flash) is unnecessary if indeed INtELS were impertinent about compliance...
...especially after being given assurances on payment for their services even with guarantee of interests in case of delays.
These are the facts as they are regardless of what any of us wish to be true. I’ll be glad to hear from INTELS on the contrary.
I rest my case until I hear from INTELS on the contrary. Then I will support my findings with Documentary evidence.
So this is not on the President @MBuhari as earlier perceived (apologies for that) but in due process and compliance.
...End of Celestial Public Enquiry Report....
