We have found a really sad tree. Thread:
One of our officers was passing by a house in Intake, minding his own business.
He spotted a tree that’d had potentially the worst haircut in history.
I mean, seriously?
The sad thing is, this is really damaging to the tree. Our tree officer’s reaction:
A resident had hired someone to do some tree work without fully checking out their credentials. It turned out they weren’t very good.
They had hacked the top off our wooden friend
They’d also used spikey boots that damage the tree and left it looking like this.
Unfortunately, this is too common and happens more regularly than you’d think. Check out this sad customer in Bawtry:
Work like this means we have to nurse the tree back to health and keep a closer eye on it as it grows.
*Threatening voice* You can also be responsible if the work is carried out for you, and could face a substantial fine.
So let’s be kind to trees. Let’s give them better haircuts. Let’s make the world a leafier place. #ThisismyDoncaster #TuesdayTales
