Highly critical @CommonsHomeAffs report into post-Brexit immigration arrangements, preparedness, policy delays, just published .... “overstretched” officials left in an impossible position: 
.../2 Phase 1 Agreement means that UK Visas and Immigration will have 2.5 years to register 3 million EU citizens in order to establish eligibility for “settled” or “temporary” status, beginning this Autumn..
/3 “If key questions are not swiftly resolved and delivery plans drawn up, we do not believe that UKVI will be capable of delivering significant changes to the system either at the border or on registration by March 2019” 
/4 says PM’s words on plane to China on restricted rights for new EU citizen arrivals during transition caused “further uncertainty”.. needs clarification in 10 areas including whether employers will check registration of EU citizens then, what happens to those temp away on B-day 
5/ Wow - UK Border Force have been asking UK Airports that are redeveloping terminals to “safeguard space” for changes to border halls to accommodate possible changes to EEA national immigration procedure 
6/ UK Border Force budget has already failed to keep up with passenger growth leading to longer queues “clear to us that BF does not currently have the capacity to deliver” additional checks on EEA nationals, particularly so if Customs checks also required ex-CU
7/ HA Select committee says “very concerned” that the Government’s “hostile environment” immigration policies - outsourcing implementation to landlords, colleges, employers, banks - “could be extended to include EEA nationals - three million more people living legally in UK” 
8/ 10 per cent increase in the BorderForce in Northern Ireland, with four major sea ports, three main airports and a 335 mile land border, it went from 57 Border FOrce officials... to 63, says report 
9/ Border Force has a target of getting non EEA nationals through airport passport queues in 45 minutes, EEA in 25 minutes - that first target now being missed regularly already (eg at LHR now 89%) - unclear what changes will now occur to this arrangement, outside EU/EEA
