1) Just so everyone is clear, the #Brexit that May is proposing, even if she gets it, is pretty much pointless.
We'll be a little bit poorer, won't have any additional "control" to speak of, and will carry on paying for the privilege.
2) the new FTAs, if they appear, will have minimal impact but most likely the public will argue against them in a "Britain first" kind of way.

The question from the Belgian journalist to May of "is it worth it?" will be the question everyone outside the UK will be asking
3) Absolutely no-one will be happy with the #Brexit outcome save a few idiots who only care about the symbolism of leaving. Certainly it won't resemble anything like "what we voted for", whatever that was, because it'll be a new, flawed, contradictory & compromised Brexit
4) Many of those who voted for #Brexit will feel betrayed, and those who voted remain will just feel "What was it all for?"

It's ironic that the primary argument of those who still support brexit is "you lost, get over it"
5) Ironic because in the end the only reason we're doing this symbolic but ultimately pointless #brexit is because people voted for it (or at least something in the same rough area)
Not because there are benefits or any upside, simply because we had a vote
6) At first the fact that Leave won the #brexit vote does seem powerful, and I can understand democrats being compelled to follow the "will of the people" but surely, this pointless Brexit demands something more than a point in time vote based on broken promises & incompetence
7) Because Vote Leave *were* incompetent. Time after time we are seeing evidence that these Leave champions simply do not understand or want to understand the world, our place in it, how trade and diplomacy works or any of the areas of expertise needed to underpin #Brexit
8) If you decided to buy a car, then found it had been in a major accident, you'd change your mind
If you decided to buy a house, and the survey revealed major subsidence, you'd change your mind
We voted for #Brexit, it's a compromised mess, but we can't change our mind?
9) Who would do this in real life? Who would plan to leave their job for a dream new one, then leave anyway even when they found they'd earn less money and work weekends & nights and have fewer prospects? No-one acts this way, but the UK is
10) There is a certain charm in breaking away from the EU completely. It would be economic suicide & catastrophic but it has a certain appeal.
This? This is just an exercise in damage limitation because we cannot afford *that* #Brexit
11) In the end we'll #Brexit through sheer bloody mindedness, stubbornness and a desperate desire from some to get Brexit, *any* Brexit through. For this we will be completely distracted for years whilst the rest of the world moves on without us
It's utterly bonkers
