Welcome to the 14th SWEEP Awards Bootcamp! #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Today, our finalists will further develop their digital innovations with the help of the best in ICT, ECE, and technopreneurship. #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Smart Public Affairs' Stephanie Orlino opened the program. "Our promise is for the next three days, it will be jampacked, nothing less for your digital innovations."
Founder of business development company On-Off Group Carlo Valencia: "You will fail. But that's okay. It's part of the process." #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Gladis Morales, founder of Zestagram, guides our finalists as they make their javelin boards. #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Carlo and Gladis introduced the finalists to what a startup really needs using the 'lean startup' philosophy. #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
The finalists also make javelin boards to find out for whom their startups really is. #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
We asked our two SWEEP trainers this one question: Why is it important to encourage problem-solving and entrepreneurship among IT and Engineering students today? #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Carlo Valencia answered, "IT students have the ability to create and build stuff, but if they build things people don't need and they don't solve a problem, then it will become useless." #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Gladis Morales shared, "Business people like to come up with ideas; engineers are the ones who build and build. When they meet in the middle, they can find something that they can invest in, and at the same time, something that can be created." #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
During their working lunch break, our finalists contacted prospective clients and asked them if their hypothetical problems match the actual problems their clients face. #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Each team carried out surveys and conducted interviews to find out if their startups will really help their target markets. #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
Teams share what they learned from their interviews; whether or not their solutions solve actual problems and if their innovations are feasible. #LearnSmart #SmartSWEEP
