What a day for the arXiv! arxiv.org/abs/1803.02804 shows that it's very hard for DM to reproduce the strong HI absorption at z=17 from EDGES and fulfil all other observational constrains. arxiv.org/abs/1803.02365 finds that the signal is naturally explained if DM do not exist!
This plot is not very intuitive to me but my understanding is the following: black regions show the properties that DM *must* have to explain the EDGES results. Colour regions are *excluded* by other experiments. So the only option left is a narrow range in the bottom left panel.
Here a precious section of @DudeDarkmatter's paper: PREDICTIONS! Any serious scientific theory must be falsifiable, so clear predictions are most needed!
