(1/4) He was white and he used an AR-15. The @NRA is about to say this man had mental health issues, so that the rest of us will get scared of anyone with poor mental health and buy a gun in preemptive defense so that gun sales increase. Shootings don’t just happen in schools,
(2/4) they happen everywhere in America, and now one has happened in Waffle House. You can donate all the shooting shelters to schools that you want, but at the end of the day, we can’t build our world out of Kevlar - someone is making Mad Money off that.
(3/4) The local police say a man at the scene wrestled his gun away - looks like you don’t need to arm a teacher (or a resource officer) to stop a shooting. There goes the sales pitch for @SmithWessonCorp 🤷‍♀️

Daniel was a hot shot back then in secondary school, a very fine boy (half cast- Father Scottish mum Nigerian) and since he was an only child the mother spoilt him with love and money. All the girls were always all over him.
We always went to his house after school to play Pro Evolution4 that year and there was this two close friends everyone knew was into him so they always come with us to his house. One of these girls stay in the same area with him at the time.

I very seldom leave my house without first arming. In fact, it’s so commonplace that my wife responds with surprise when she notices that I’m not armed. I made the decision years ago that I would not go out in public without a loaded weapon and extra magazines.
I generally avoid places that don’t allow weapons. The exception is hospitals and doctor’s offices. I have to go to those, so I leave my weapon and ammo in a safe in the car. As soon as I return to the car, I rearm.
I do not expect to ever use my firearm, and I pray that I never will have to use it. However, I would not hesitate to shoot a threat, whether the threat was toward me or toward another person. I practice shooting, because I don’t want 2 miss my target and hurt an innocent person.

I've stood with black women since I was a child & my parents were Civil Rights workers.
I will stand with black women till my last breath.
If you do NOT stand with black women, ask yourself why.
As a #lesbian, I hope people will stand with/for me.
They don't always, because being an ally takes work.
But I welcome allies, no matter how long it takes folks to get there.
We must believe in people being able to #change.
None of us has perfect politics nor personal lives.
Every day people change.
People who were racists realize they were wrong.
Men who were misogynists realize women are people.
Homophobes realize they were wrong.

We all have the power to realize we have been wrong and to change.
Embrace change.
It's how we heal the world.
