Strange how many of the same people who say mass shooting victims "should've had guns" say of black men killed by cops "well, the cop thought he had a gun."
There is NO excuse for cops shooting a man 20x when he's holding a cell phone. The prevalence of guns exacerbates the impact of racial bias in policing. With SO MANY guns, "I thought it was a gun" feels true, letting too many scared/racist cops take lives.
"Clark’s 3-year-old child has been asking where 'daddy' is."
Cops shot him to death in his own backyard, thinking his cell phone was a gun.

We must be careful. That #StephonClark was a father and a caring grandson enlarges the crater of his loss, but no details of his life are necessary to explain why he didn't deserve to die. #BlackLivesMatter

There's a LONG list of health care experts who, interacting with the health care system themselves, find it a nightmare. Each one on that list is an alarm: it's EVEN WORSE for everyone else. Imagine if the people with power listened to the people with the nightmares & expertise.
I've been bookmarking some of these accounts for awhile now-- of physician-researchers, and others well-versed in health care, who nonetheless get mired in the morass of the US health care system, and often suffer for it.

Only certain crimes count. And the dividing line isn't, say, violent/not. It's *the kind of person* (race, wealth) who commits it. And as "criminals," they deserve whatever happens to them--even trauma, death. Other kinds of criminals? "Criminals?!" The mere accusation is unfair
The unindicted co-conspirator stage is a logical, even easy time to say "look, I support Trump, but no one is above the law." But a swath of people WANT him to be above the law. And not just because they want him to stay President. Because THEY want to be above the law, too.

People have a fairytale impression of marriage, even the most intelligent people gloss over the reality of entering into a partnership that has no end date in sight.
Before we marry, our pattern of how we navigate relationships does not prepare us for what marriage expects.
We are used to getting into a relationship, and after a couple of weeks, months, years, the relationship running it's course.
We date again, meet another person we rate above others, and the process starts all over again. It ends, we begin dating again, we meet somebody
We fancy, we discover things we don't like over time, the relationship ends.
We date, we begin again, and it goes on and on, until we meet someone new and this time the relationship gets to the point where you are both ready to marry each other.

Excuse me if I find it just a LITTLE disingenuous that a whole group of people who could care less about racism towards the powerless are suddenly outraged by tweets when they’re about white people
A LOT of white people are more upset by Sarah’s tweets than they have been by all the unarmed black men killed by police COMBINED
By the way a whole lot of people (I’ll let you guess the demographic!) responded to this tweet and not even one had the decency to say “I actually do care about dead black kids killed by the state” before they accused me of being the real racist/just as bad as Trump.

BREAKING: at least 3 dead after a man opened fire in a Waffle House in Antioch. He was naked. A patron wrestled his rifle away from him. Person of interest, Travis Reinking, 29, of IL, still at large.
Chuck Cordero, 50, works at this Waffle House but was there last night when he was off. He was in the parking lot about to go in when shooter pulled up. "I couldn't run I was so scared. I was crawling on the ground." 4 dead now, 4 wounded.
"He did not say anything. He pulled up, got out of his car and was all business." Witness tells me he fired several rounds from parking lot before entering restaurant around 3:25 a.m.
