1/So there’s always an argument made by statists when it comes to libertarians or ancaps that justgets on my nerves,the argument that we complain about government but then drive on the roads or send kids to public school or use the post office etc. well I like analogy’s so here
2/ so everybody is at a party and the majority of people decide to have a vote about what to eat, and whatever the majority decides is what everyone will eat. Now I’m over in the corner speaking up saying no I don’t agree to that, but they ignore me and have their vote.
3/ Somehow Hawaiian pizza is the winner, now the majority goes around to collect money to pay for their ridiculous pizza, they get to me and I say” nah I’m good, I don’t want that for dinner I’m just going to go get a burger or something “
4/ this upsets the majority who scream “no, we had a vote and were getting Hawaiian pizza.” I respond “I didn’t agree and don’t want to pay for that.” The majority then proceeds to hold me down and take my wallet to get my “fair share” of the pizza money.
5/ the pizza arrives, and the crust is kinda burnt and there’s an insane amount of pineapple, but I’m hungry , it’s dinner time and they forced me to pay for it(with the money I would’ve used to buy a burger). So I go to get a slice.
6/ Everyone then turns around an condescendingly, snarkily, and in some cases angrily says “Oh sure you didn’t want any pizza, you complained about it and about paying for it, but here you are eating it”! That’s how you people sound when you make that argument
7/ you didn’t let me opt out, you forced me to contribute, then get upset when I partake of what you FORCED me to finance! Seems crazy no?
