The Intercept's @JeremyScahill and @mehdirhasan do a segment on the "debate on the left" about Syria. But they say nothing about the situation on the ground and neither will come down clearly against regime change. A total cop out.
Some really revealing talking points from @JeremyScahill. Here refers to al-Qaeda as "the Syrian resistance" and condemns "Russian barrel bombs." (Russia doesn't use barrel bombs, what is he talking about?)
says leftists are against regime change in Syria because they hate America, not because they understand the terrible implications of US regime change wars from Iraq to Libya.
In this clip, Jeremy says a decapitation strike against Saddam Hussein could have been a "reasonable" alternative to full scale de-Baathification. He strangely says it's not his position, though.
Here @jeremyscahill fantasizes about Assad (he calls him "Bosher") being imprisoned by the ICC alongside Rumsfeld and Cheney. He says nothing about the Western leaders who illegally armed jihadist contras to push regime change.
.@JeremyScahil: "This is three madmen that are in this equation: Trump, Duterte and Kim Jong Un. And I really don't know which of these three people is the sort of greater threat to civilization."
Uhh, the US has surrounded DPRK with bases and Trump is threatening to destroy it.
