Start by focusing initially on individuals who are motivated to change, and their changes will drive changes in the market. #RISINGTIDESUMMIT
The same ideas that drive tech adoption (invention, early adopter, market growth, etc.) can be used to make system changes to deal with climate change threats. #RISINGTIDESUMMIT
The ECOBOARD project expanded the market for sustainable surfboards from 500 in 2012 to 65,000 in 2017. #RisingTideSummit
Surfers are natural environmentalists. When approached properly, adoption became obvious. (Why wouldn't I want a surfboard that performs well and is good for the environment?) #RisingTideSummit
Focus on positive solutions with tangible benefits. It's not about stopping climate change, but saving money or preventing waste. #RisingTideSummit

Our school system isn't designed to teach stewardship and how our systems connect to each other. #RisingTideSummit
Per a Stanford U study, meal worms are able to digest and breakdown Styrofoam and turn it into a truly organic substance. Worms are used to eat out the foam core of surfboards leaving only the fiberglass. #RisingTideSummit
Aquaponics can be used to create nonchlorinated pools by establishing systems that mimic natural arrangements (plants - water - fish - fertilizer - filtratation). #RisingTideSummit
Stewardship is a natural state for children; we need to find ways to bring that into our adult mindset. #RisingTideSummit
We can use a blend of modern science and technology and ancient wisdom if we focus on a positive, regenerative mindset. #RisingTideSummit
Eddy: 'Regenerative' is more than 'organic' practices. We have confused the land for money, but we can do things mimicking the natural systems that existed originally. #RisingTideSummit
Small scale back yard farmers can grow their own food by mimicking the original natural systems. #RisingTideSummit
You can grow nutritious food with chemicals, but you can't grow soil that way. To grow soil, we need to reinstate natural systems. #RisingTideSummit
In the early 1900s, 90% of farms were family farms, and they used organic fertilizers. Today only 2% are family farms, and they mostly use chemical fertilizers. #RisingTideSummit
Regenerative education teaches the new generation to use technology and nature, instead of technology or nature, through positive, encouraging conversations. #RisingTideSummit
Let's change the narrative to bioremediation--if we pull something out, we put it back as good or better. Reduce, reuse, recycle, regenerate. #RisingTideSummit
