When we were fighting against relegation in L2, I had the feeling that Ards & the team were literally fighting for every single point. Here we are in L1 & I get the feeling that if our one dimensional play doesn't pay off, it's game over. Seems completely clueless.
My main concern is 'budget'. It's all we hear, 'we've got the worst budget'. Does that message seep into the players? That maybe no one will moan because we appreciate we're up against it? I do wonder...
Budget is an excuse. A reasonable one? Perhaps. But an excuse all the same. Wimbledon of the 80's & 90's never complained about it, yet they competed. And what frustrates me most is the Ards should be seeped in the same ethic as he played most of his career at WFC under Kinnear.
You would've thought he'd have learned a lot from him in that area. Obviously not.
I think the thing that really pisses me off though is this team appears to lack the one thing that truly defines Wimbledon as a club: FIGHT. Yes, the players individually put in the effort, but as a collective we're weak. As a Wimbledon fan, that is unacceptable & unrecognisable.
And when you hear rumours that certain players are allowed to do certain things on the pitch because the manager 'just wants to keep him happy', it would appear weak from the top, too.
Anyway, enough moaning. Who wants to go down the pub and get shit-faced?
