Two days ago the obituaries editor came round and asked if I would like to write about someone who had done something important to do with platelets.

With an inward sigh, I said yes. I prepared to write the worthy-but-dull obituary of Gustav Born.

How did he become interested in platelets, I thought? Maybe I can eke an anecdote out of that.
Anything of interest in his parentage to bulk things out?

Two days ago I compared Per-capita GDP of all states relative to India PCI for 2004-05 & 2017-18

Since then conversations with @PoliteVersion and links to an RBI source permit me to make some changes to the analysis I had shared
Two Tweaks to earlier exercise

1. Use of 2017-18 numbers for all states (earlier used 17-18 numbers for most states, but 2016-17 for some)

2. Comparison over time using both Constant prices & Current prices
Now 1 is definitely something we should do.

So let us first make Change 1 and see how results change (while still using "current" prices)

Two days ago, a podcast was released by @KimCrayton1 ft. @shanisebarona that broke the last of my hope for an organization I called home. Yesterday, this powerful network assembled in a way that felt like the old days of @girldevelopit -- women pushing together for change.

About an hour ago, a post said this was "straight out of the Democrat playbook."

"They are doing it to themselves," it said.
InfoWars started down this path two days ago, but that's what they do.

The idea that no one on the left is a true victim of terror attacks, that it's all an elaborate hoax by Soros, is so ingrained in the rightwing media ecosystem that it's barely notable.
An hour later, half of the top 10 rising posts on r/the_donald calls the bombs a false flag, one citing InfoWars.

Two days ago, the news broke that two people in #Amesbury, England (not far from the site of the Skripal poisoning) were poisoned with an unknown chemical agent. Police have since announced that the two recent victims were, like the Skripals, exposed to #Novichok.
Here's an analysis of the first ~40 hours of Twitter traffic related to the #Amesbury poisoning. This dataset contains 34848 tweets from 21500 accounts containing the word "Amesbury" - almost all are related to the incident.
Retweet network for Amesbury tweets. The disinformation category was determined by checking the tweets of the 50 most retweeted accounts in the set for #Amesbury #FalseFlag theories and the like. Accounts which exclusively RT'd accounts in the disinfo category are also included.
