I’m in courtroom 442 in Manhattan, to hear an unusual case: can a condo board take @POTUS’s name off their bldg? washingtonpost.com/politics/condo…
Backstory: Bldg is at 200 Riverside Blvd. @realDonaldTrump doesn’t own it, but helped develop it, along w/5 others also named “Trump Place.”
After election, 3 other bldgs take off @realdonaldtrump’s name. This one considers it. Trump unpopular in Manhattan.
BUT Trump Org finds out. Writes letter. Threatens to sue.
But the condo sued first, asking judge to settle question. Does licensing agreement *require* them to use @realdonaldtrump’s name on a sign?
Or does it merely allow them to use @realdonaldtrump’s name, if they want?
The obvious subtext: If this board can take down @realDonaldTrump’s name, other Trump-branded bldgs may follow. washingtonpost.com/politics/condo…
