1. The GOP has been attacking the Affordable Care Act from every direction. Beginning in 2010, theyve been slicing wires under the car's hood, and then announcing to the gullible that the engine never worked. Now, the consequences are being paid for Trumpcare. Uninsured rates...
...have gone up significantly since Trump took office - from the lowest in American history. The uninsured rate climbed from 12.7% in 2016 to 15.5% now. What GOP has accomplished: Kicking people off insurance. What about rates? Insurers say they are going up cause of the GOP...
...of course, this doesnt appear on Fox News, so its viewers believe the opposite is true. But the insurance companies are being quite clear - just like the GOP refusal to expand Medicaid, the killing of risk corridors, etc did -- caused the rate increases...
....Carefirst, for example, raised rates 64%. But guess who GOP attacks on ACA did help? Yup - as usual, the deluded don't know or even know why. It gave massive tax cuts to the rich. That was the point of the propaganda campaign against ACA from the beginning, why the GOP...
...intentionally sabotaged it, kicking out legs from the stool and then convincing the uninformed that the fall was caused by the stool, not the kicking.
...so what does that mean? That a health insurance program that benefits the working class is unachievable. Propaganda is easy, statistics and economics are hard. With propaganda, people have been persuaded to put a gun in their own mouths and dont even know it.
...now, I want to be clear on something. ACA is not perfect. There were 3 major fixes that were necessary. The GOP blocked all three, then made one of them worse on purpose, then added two more designed to cripple the law, then added another. If the sabotage could be reversed...
...and then government officials acted like they cared about policy rather than politics, they could fix the three problems with very little effort. THEN we could see if the GOP idea - the ACA - that they attacked once Obama agreed to it would work.
