"Needs more pepper!" you quip
Sir Thorns grins and Father Tree makes an amused snorting sound.
Mrs S however heard you and is less than amused
"What's that mortal? Do you find fault with me soup?" she calls across the table, there's an edge to the question
you can almost see.
"No, no Mrs S, it was a jest I doubt there's a creature living that would find fault with this fine repast"
"And if there was they wouldn't live for long" whispers Sir Thorns just loud enough for you and Father Tree to hear.
Father Tree has a fit of "Coughing"
Mrs S is holding your gaze, [pass] you manage to keep a straight face despite your giggling companion.
You decide to make for safe conversational harbour.
"Tell me how does food like this come to be?" you ask
"With hard bloody work by myself and young Sally here and you better
appreciate it, young fella me lad!"
The creature behind her gives a small curtsy
"Oh I do" you assure her "I'm just curious, I've never encountered the like before"
"Well perhaps the funny boys beside you can fill you in," she says with a dismissive snort, she turns to the Snake
"Would you believe that's the second mortal I've had to put manners on today?"
Your companions are in the final stages of a giggling fit as you have another spoon of soup, you don't get the visuals but you do get the same sensations..
You look at the soup thoughtfully
Sir Thorns
notices your look and sighs.
"You genuinely want to know now don't you?"
You nod
"Okay here's your choices, the magical, you're in a fey court with some of the oldest being in creation, very simplistic story or I can give you a detailed, probably dull explanation of the science"
