The Central Bank of Nigeria has Announced a New FX Policy.

(Aka how to access dollars)

Here’s why you should care👇
The Policy says that:

1. CBN would stop selling FX to Bureau de Change (BDCs) operators, aka the guy that sells dollars on the street.

2. CBN would also no longer issue new license to BDCs.
3. FX would now be channeled through commercial banks.

4. Banks would set up a desk to serve customers in need of FX

Thread: Before I release some correspondence between myself & others in regards to the committee & following #CaringWell I want to point out that some were acting on the only available action/directive they could, I do feel few were doing more behind the scenes & faced such+

To guard against excess, unapproved or arbitrary charges by banks and other financial institutions, the Guide to Bank Charges stipulates a penalty of N2,000,000 per infraction
or as may be determined by the #CBN from time to time for financial institutions that breach any provision of the guide.
The guide also emphasizes that failure by any bank to comply with CBN’s directive in respect of any infraction shall attract a further penalty of N2,000,000 daily

Effective from today, you will pay a huge fine for cash deposit or withdrawal above N500k individual or N3m corporate in Abia, Abuja, Anambra, Kano, Lagos, Ogun or Rivers State. Rest of the country will take effect from 31 March 2020.
