1. Lost in the national coverage of Greitens’ is that Mike Pence’s CoS worked with the Greitens’ campaign starting in 2015. Greitens’ campaign fund continued to pay the firm through 2018. The Trump administration was concerned Ayers could be subpoenaed. fox4kc.com/2018/05/01/tru…
2. A former Greitens campaign advisor testified before the Missouri House that in 2015 while Ayers’ firm was working with Greitens, the campaign was soliciting foreign campaign donations and strategizing how to keep donors anonymous. columbiatribune.com/news/20180503/…
3. Ayers was involved in laundering the largest campaign donation in Missouri’s history through Seals For Truth. That donation, from a single donor, has connections to the “dark money phantom” David Langdon. stltoday.com/news/local/gov…
4. The Greitens investigation also ensnared Ayers’ protege, Austin Chambers who has also worked for VP Pence. kansascity.com/news/politics-…
5. Chambers was involved in filing the false ethics report in which Greitens lied about utilizing the donor list from the non-profit The Mission Continues. kansascity.com/news/politics-…
6. The Missouri House report details how Chambers was behind the false ethics report, a misdemeanor. stltoday.com/news/local/gov…
7. Greitens’ use of the charity’s donor list also endangers The Mission Continues non profit status which are prohibited from backing a political campaign.
8. Greitens was facing a felony charge for forwarding the charity’s donor list to his campaign fundraiser. Greitens is likely to never face charges as a result of his deal to resign. Another politician who is above the law. chicagotribune.com/news/nationwor…
9. Greitens was initially paying campaign staffers through his business which is a violation of state campaign finance laws. Why even have these laws if they will not be enforced?? stltoday.com/news/local/gov…
10. After Greitens was sworn in, a non profit popped up, A New Missouri, to “support the governor’s agenda”. What it was really did was allow endless amounts of $$ to flow to Greitens skirting MO campaign donation laws and while keeping donors anonymous. stltoday.com/news/local/gov…
11. A New Missouri shared an address with one of Greitens’ biggest donors, Stanley Herzog. Herzog donated $650k to Greitens campaign. After the election, Herzog paid at least $90k for Greitens’ personal travel. stltoday.com/news/local/gov…
12. Greitens re-election campaign also rented offices in the same warren of buildings housing A New Missouri. Greitens visited the office at least four times.
13. Yesterday, a judge ordered A New Missouri to comply with a House subpoena and turn over documents and emails which could show coordination between Greitens and the non profit, a way to skirt Missouri’s election laws.
The ruling yesterday further endangered VP Pence and his cronies. Greitens’ recent campaign filings listed expenses paid to Chambers for campaign consulting even though he was head of A New Missouri, Nick Ayers’ firm C5 Consulting for ads and the head of VP Pence’s PAC.
14. So in addition to potentially exposing the names of donors to A New Missouri, revealing who continued to back a man who forcibly held a woman until she performed oral sex, the judge’s ruling yesterday could have taken down Pence and those who support him.
15. THAT kids, is why Eric Greitens resigned. Not because he was a pervert but because he endangered the GOP apparatus. Ayers also worked on campaigns for David Perdue, Bruce Rauner, Scott Walker and Tom Cotton. He also headed the Republican Governors Association.
16. PS - Total coincidence, I’m sure but earlier this month as the Greitens investigation heated up, Nick Ayers closed his firm, C5 Consulting. stltoday.com/news/local/gov…
