1. The Biggest Problem in America

Let me first say what it's not. It's not the Democrats and it is not the Republicans. It's not the liberals and it's not the conservatives. It's not the unhinged socialists/communists and it's not the unhinged capitalists.
2. America is a vast country, in its geographic expanse as well as in its expansive spirit. It has taken, and will continue to take, a whole lot in its stride. Politicians, no matter how popular or how unpopular, come and go.
3. Intense political and partisan rivalry between the two major political parties is no lasting trouble at all. As a matter of fact, in the long run, it's the best guarantee most Americans have against state tyranny.
4. The only thing that is structurally destabilizing is an unaccountable and partisan fourth estate which is in cahoots with one of the political parties. After all, Americans have to get their information about people, events, and policies from somewhere.
5. To serve a useful purpose, press must be adversarial, but equally adversarial to everyone in power, regardless of political affiliation. Lapdogs of either party are ultimately worse than useless for the nation.
6. Unfortunately, mainstream media is currently hopelessly corrupt in its innate political bias, even as it is still regrettably indispensable. Horrible though MSM is, the only thing worse than MSM is the alternative media, for the most part.
7. While I root for new and more responsible media to emerge (competition is good), I also hope for MSM to somehow find a way to right its ship. I am in equal parts sad and enraged at how cravenly MSM debases itself to serve the interests of the Democratic party.
8. While I joust with and rib many on the other side of the political aisle, I intend to do it in the spirit of sports teams rivalry. I never lose sight of the fact that both political parties are part and parcel of what makes America great.
9. What I have utter contempt for is a hopelessly compromised MSM. There's nothing redeeming about it. MSM's crass partisanship is the biggest impediment to America's well-being today. There's no problem that is too big for Americans to tackle, if given impartial truth.

The END.
1. Political Paradox

Number one destroyer of the Democratic Party is the mainstream media, even when it is peopled with nothing but Democrats.

Actually, it is not much of a paradox, but an easily anticipated outcome, just over a long period of time.
2. Media turns Democratic politicians into entitled brats by never challenging them and by covering up their malfeasance.
3. What do you think happens to sports teams who play with referees biased in their favor. They begin to think they're better than they are.
4. When the big game day arrives on election day, and voters get to be the referee, they don't like the verdict, and wail, "What Happened?"
5. America is a right-of-center country at its core. Always has been, and always will be, so long as it stays a constitutional republic.
6. Why, you ask? Well, look no further than its very founding. Go through the Declaration of Independence, Federalist Papers, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, and try to find anything that strikes you as left-of-center, even the least bit. I bet you won't.
7. All leftist thinking is injected into our body politic by elites in the media, academia, entertainment, and so on, by people who are so secure in their perches that they will never have to suffer the consequences of what they propound.
8. I hasten to add that while all leftists in America are Democrats, all Democrats are not leftists. Far from it. Majority of Democrats are actually not leftists at all. The party in recent decades has been hijacked by leftist elements.
9. Reasonable Democrats -- the vast majority -- have left-of-center leanings but only strong enough to pull the country closer to the middle. Truth be told, a right-of-center country needs left-of-center influences to stay wholesome, lest it swing way too far to the right.
10. That's why I pray for America to always have two principled and strong parties. A dominant one-party system will be bad for the nation.
11. Make no mistake. Republican Party, despite its majority in DC and in the states, is barely in a good shape. Problem is the Democratic Party is in even worse shape.
12. As a country, we have a lot of work to do to re-build two healthy parties. And the work cannot begin too soon. Unfortunately, our media will be of no help, no help at all, until they set their own house in order. I see no sign of that happening. And that's a shame!
