1. Leftist Bilge
Arundhati Roy is a celebrated writer from India who also happens to be one of the most misguided leftists in the world, if only because of her surplus command of language coupled with an utter lack of understanding.

2. Leftism is nothing but intellectual laziness on steroids. All you have to do is to rail poetically about all the world's ills, without ever suffering any tinge of inconvenience of having to offer alternatives or solutions. Leftism isn't a philosophy so much as an attitude.
3. And Arundhati Roy has perfected it. Read the above article and see how beautifully she excoriates everything that she perceives to be unjust or malignant (and many, not all, of the things she describes are malignant and unjust) but her only talent is her eloquence.
4. While the suffering involved in what Arundhati describes is real, most if not all of her imaginary causality is misplaced, misunderstood, contrived, and obnoxious. But who cares? All leftists care about is scathing speech. Analytical integrity is for suckers.
5. Leftists know what's bad. They specialize in it. But they don't know the first thing about how to create good. Worse, they attack mercilessly anyone who tries to do good.
6. And leftists save their vilest venom for what has proven to have created the most good for the largest number of people on the planet (i.e. free market capitalism) on the grounds that it hasn't created heaven on earth already.
7. The most heinous conceit of leftism is that excoriating bad will somehow spontaneously create good. No, it doesn't. Chaos, cruelty, and destitution is the natural order of things. Laws of physics mandate it.
8. It takes an extraordinary amount of insight, foresight, diligence, effort, forbearance, and deferred gratification to create good. If one wants to do good, one must study how it is created, nurtured, and promoted. And then practice and propagate it.
9. In short, to do good, one must do the opposite of what the leftists do -- the lazy peacocks!
