Look, I’m not a huge Bill Clinton fan but no one is going to gaslight me that Bill Clinton’s dick set some precedent for the executive branch getting away with shit.
Do not pretend to me that Nixon didn’t get pardoned and Regan/Bush didn’t ooze their way out of Iran-Contra and news and media didn’t roll over and play dead and go along with “enhanced interrogation techniques” to excuse W and Cheney’s war crimes.
I am tired of hearing about how Bill Clinton is the root of all evil by people that masturbate over Reagan like he wasn’t the seed that grew into the tree of Koch/Mercer fuckery.
For the record we aren’t here because of Clinton. Clinton is a fucking drop in the ocean. The main reason we’re here is because the right fully embraced a propaganda network to avoid the consequences of war crimes and lost control of the circus.
Most of these “never Trump” Republicans that are now shaking their heads sadly and pretending that Bill Clinton opened this door are tap dancing at warp speed hoping no one remembers the blood on their hands and I will not fucking dance to that tune.
We are here because Bush/Cheney lied us into a war by deceiving our allies. We are here because in order to avoid facing the consequences of their torture policies and other war crimes, they waged war on truth itself and elevated FOX News and other right wing con men for cover.
Now, if you want to go back further than that, sure, we can talk about root causes, but the immediate problem we’re dealing with is that half the voting population is living in an alternate reality of rage and hate. That started with W.
That said, Bill Clinton comes off as shockingly unprepared to answer questions about his past issues and given the current rise of MeToo, he should both expect and be able to answer these questions rather than continue to serves as an embodiment of white male privilege.
