Child-me’s mind: blown.
I understand why it didn’t happen, but my soul longs for the episode where Daniel Tiger asks Lady Evelyn what it means to be gay, and she explains about love and how everyone is worthy of it.
This is why I’m so grateful as a parent to folks like @chrisdocnee for Doc McStuffins and Vampirina - great modern kids television that teaches children how to be empathetic fixers and to embrace their differences.

More on NICS in a second, but to correct Dana's tweet re Maryland:
Seven day waiting period, but one gun purchase per month
No background checks required for long guns
@NRA fighting for Concealed Carry Reciprocity, which would force every state to accept every out-of-state permit
In 1993, the @NRA argued that NICS should be struck down as unconstitutional. The case was Printz v. United States, and it went all the way to the Supreme Court, and the NRA claimed NICS would destroy federalism (🙄).

1/ I inhaled Masters of Doom over the last couple evenings. Aside from being a super engaging read, it reminded me of a lot of similarities between the early gaming & crypto communities. amazon.com/Masters-Doom-C…
2/ In the early days, the violence in video games caused a backlash from conservatives who wanted to ban them. One case went all the way to the Supreme Court, but was ultimately dismissed.
3/ The parallel here is the narrative of crypto being used for drug dealing and nefarious activity - in the early days bitcoin was the target, and now it has become privacy coins. Trying to ban these things rarely (if ever) works.

As we close out #PrideMonth, again w/o recognition by Trump, we must recognize the stakes.

The rights that so many have fought for are under assault.

Trump has already rolled back #LGBTQIA rights. It'll accelerate thru the Supreme Court.
