The stage set for Pranab Mukherjee's speech at RSS headquarters in Nagpur today. Mukherjee is the chief guest for the 'passing out' of more than 700 RSS cadres.

Meanwhile, it seems the Congress is anguished over Pranab's presence at the RSS event. Congress leader Anand Sharma tweeted that Mukherjee's presence at the RSS headquarters anguished several Congress workers.

Mukherjee's appointment as India's President in 2012 disburdened him of party affiliations, but Congress leaders asked him to reconsider his decision to attend the Nagpur event. Even his daughter cautioned him.

Concept of modern Indian states was articulated from various Indian leaders. Jawaharlal Nehru wrote, 'I'm convinced that nationalism can only come by the ideological fusion of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and other groups. That doesn't mean extinction of any group'. #PranabAtRSSEvent
