A lot has happened and a lot is happening with the #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG Movement, a brainchild of the Universal Institutional Reform Advocacy NG, which seeks the strengthening of our Institutions across spectrum, beginning with the reformation of the Criminal Justice System.

So it is deeper than the what most know in the public space. Thus, the difficulty of hijacking this for political purposes. It’s deeply rooted with extensive research of 10years before the open petition and campaign from 2015 which peaked in 2016/2017. #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG

We however hope and believe @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR will begin public hearing soonest and facilitate a Bill for the Amendment of the Police Act expeditiously. We are making progress for we are not where we used to be. #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG
Here are some highlights from what we learnt last year as we collate and update new data up to this point. The victim reports are still predominantly male but female abuse by SARS and @PoliceNG are on a dangerous rise. The attacks are majorly on youth between 16-45 years of age.
We plotted a trend from 2000 to 2017 and significant reported incidents started from 2014 through 2017 when the #EndSARs #ReformPoliceNG petition and awareness became pronounced. Giving more people the boldness to speak out. Arrests occur mostly in daytime & overnight on weekends
The automatic and indiscriminate accusations were found to be as shown from respondents in 2017 and of recent indecent dressing, looking fine and possession of laptops, iPhones etc have been reoccurring. Extortion have been found to be the endgame amidst cruel intimidation.
We have modified the questionnaires and collected deeper data from treated cases of victims across Nigeria. And we will soon make this public once consolidated. Thank you for your support as we continue to stand in the gap. #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG

I know it is difficult to take seriously a Priest who says your faith has made thee whole as much as one who gives you a Bottle Of Coke filled with water with instructions of dosage as accompanied by chants to recite. The job is almost done. The end is near.
We MUST at all costs avoid putting in harm’s way the people we are striving to protect daily. You know already we are no cowards and the quality of a Brave generation is the understanding of the enemy, a deep conviction fortified with strategic plan and continuous planning.
