@voxdotcom 1/ To be clear, what @SenGillibrand demonstrated in dealing with @SenFranken, made it clear to me, a feminist, she is not someone I want representing me in any capacity.
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 2/ Gillibrand circumvented democratic process – the ethics investigation @SenFranken himself asked for. And it’s especially egregious at this critical time when process is being trampled by Trump and the Republicans in Congress - it’s how we got Gorsuch.
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 3/ While unwilling for that investigation to go forward, she is apparently satisfied with the ethics process for Senator Menendez, indicating perhaps that she views established processes as something akin to restaurant menu – that serves her particular mood, goal, whim, appetite–
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 4/ – today this tomorrow that.

@SenGillibrand ‘s determination of guilt appears to have been the number of allegations, not whether or not those allegations proved true – a number, by the way, that was apparently somehow, magically determined solely by her, personally.
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 5/ @SenGillibrand substituted slothful simplistic, sloganeering for thoughtful forward-looking leadership:
She said, “believe women“ rather than respect and listen to women, the repercussions of which are easily found all over social media.
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 6/ Imagine if the Washington Post had allowed themselves to be so lead by such sloganeering, rather than fully investigating all the allegations in the Roy Moore story including the one that proved to be false. Is it too harsh to expect as much of our representatives in Congress?
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 7/ @SenGillibrand also used “zero tolerance” as a reason, rather than doing the challenging and necessary work of grappling with context, distinctions, boundaries, etc. Yes, I know it’s hard – and it comes with the job. “Zero tolerance” used like this an excuse for not thinking,
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 8/...for not being curious, for not being engaged. It’s sloganeering masquerading as policy. And it’s poison. “Zero tolerance” is a danger to humans, to humanity and most importantly to the way we think. One must look no further than the Trump administration’s policy
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 9/ ... of “zero tolerance” as a way to justify ripping children from their families to see how harmful it can be.
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken 10/ Neither @SenGillibrand nor @TheDemocrats gained any moral high ground because there is no moral high ground to be had on the basis of circumventing process...
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken @TheDemocrats 11/ and substituting slothful sloganeering for thoughtful forward looking leadership – one need look no farther than the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, to find that vividly illustrated.
Perhaps Mr. Soros had similar thoughts in mind.
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken @TheDemocrats 12/ I take @SenGillibrand ‘s word for it that she “believed the women.”
I also take Zuckerberg’s word for it that he believes Facebook is a force for good. Unfortunately, the evidence to validate Zuckerberg’s belief is missing.
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken @TheDemocrats 13/ Likewise, evidence to validate @SenGillibrand ‘s belief concerning allegations against @SenFranken is missing – because there was no ethics investigation
@voxdotcom @SenGillibrand @SenFranken @TheDemocrats 14/ My reasons for being firmly opposed to @SenGillibrand are as I describe above, not the reasons put forth in this piece.
