Glossed over some Chinese figures. They weren't at the official meeting next to Xi Jinping but they were banquet guests who met KJU: Chinese premier Li Keqiang, Veep Wang Qishan and Guo Shengkun whose official title is Secretary of the Central Political & Legal Affairs Commission
Guo Shengkun is an extremely interesting figure to be interacting with the NK side. He's in charge of public safety & state security and could provide expertise to NK on stabilizing regime while pursuing economic reform. He's made name recently for implementing cybersecurity
Wang Qishan also made news recently when he was mistranslated. He said China's "core interests" include the Korean Peninsula: the term is used by China to refer to Tibet/Taiwan, etc (but isn't NK China's core interest?) He's coming to Washington in 10 days

And look here: KJU visited 2 Beijing institutions that are part of China's "One Belt One Road initiative," one of which is this agricultural R&D center. It's no secret China wants NK to be part of its OBOR network.

KJU seems to be checking out some chick peas at the agricultural R&D center with Choe Ryong-hae, Kim Yong-chol and Premier Pak Bong-ju, who's in charge of economic matters. Notice KJU dressed in white (Kim Il Sung's summer wear) and everyone else clad exactly alike
KJU checking out leafy greens. This hands-behind-back posture also seems to be designed to make him look like his grandpa. OGD officials Choe Ryong-hae and Jo Yong-won trailing him.
Those who remember the 1st inter-Korean summit recall KJU & Moon devoting a large portion of their time during their stroll along this blue crossing bridge to Vietnamese-style economic reform (Doi Moi). Perhaps that was a tease act to tantalize Xi Jinping news.joins.com/article/225941…
This recently happened off Vietnam's shores: Russian firm Rosneft drilling for oil in the South China Sea claimed by China. Xi would be pleased if NK didn't engage in acts which go against China's Maritime Silk Road.
